Practice makes... better

My laptop on a stand, showing the Rekordbox software, with my Pioneer DDJ-FLX10 controller in front, and a blurry me to the right of shot, moving and manipulating some knobs.
Trying to make sense of my music.

I've been fortunate enough to be allowed to play two sets at the stunning EMF Camp this year!

I'm struggling to get my ear in, so to speak. I've been overly ambitious, added too much new music, and have generally not been getting into the groove of it. Every setback has meant starting again.

This afternoon, I vowed to just record the set, stick to my timings, and see what I could do, no matter how bad.

It worked! I have a set. It's not perfect. I'd say maybe it's not even good, but it's something to work from, and I wouldn't be utterly ashamed if I played like that on the day.

A screenshot of Music Assistant, showing the recorded DJ set as “EMF Space Test 01 - 4 Jul 2026”.
The test recording, at 1 hour and 17 seconds.
